VIENTIANE: Laos' Ministry of Industry and Commerce launched the Lao National Handicraft Branding, providing a significant uplift to local artisans and handicraft producers, empowering them to elevate the quality of their products and compete more effectively on the global stage.
The Lao National Handicraft Branding is expected to play a pivotal role in promoting Laos' distinctive cultural heritage, deeply embedded in its handicrafts, Lao News Agency reported on Wednesday (March 20).
By showcasing these crafts to the world, the Lao National Handicraft Branding will raise awareness of the country's rich cultural legacy and stimulate tourism, thus generating positive economic impacts locally.
The launching ceremony, which was held here on Tuesday, was attended by more than 100 representatives from the Lao government, ministries, private firms and non-governmental organisations. - Xinhua
