Myanmar youth in Tokyo stabbed and killed by his roommate


YANGON (Eleven Media Group/ANN): A 20-year old Myanmar youth is being stabbed and killed by his roommate in Tokyo onn Feb 19, announced Myanmar embassy in the Japanese capitalk

The announcement said police from Yokkaichi in Mie Prefecture, Japan contacted the embassy to inform about the death of Myanmar youth, who was stayed in Japan as an apprentice, on February 17.

The decease, Ye Htet Zaw, was working as an apprentice in Kowa Toso Company, a paint company in Yokkaichi from December 3, 2019 and his roommate was on the run, it said.

Myanmar embassy informed about it to Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population. The police contacted the embassy on February 17 and they detained the culprit, Kaung Kyaw Htet. They continued the investigation.

The embassy contacted parents of the decease and provided help for them. It also contacted the company the decease is working.

Moreover the embassy officials met with officials from Organization for Technical Intern Training (OTIT) on February 18 for two times and the embassy officials urged them to remind the companies in Japan to prevent another incident like that. - Eleven Media Group/ANN
