Philippines seizes hundreds of giant clam shell pieces

MANILA: The Philippines on Monday (Feb 19) said it seized a large hoard giant clam shell pieces on a remote western island, a key point in the illegal global trade of the marine species.

Authorities unearthed 336 pieces of shells on the shore of Bugsuk island in Palawan province on last Wednesday, a Philippine Coast Guard statement said.
