Vietnam aims at US$3.5bil revenue from exporting durian in 2024


HANOI: Vietnam's durian export is heading for US$3.5 billion in revenue this year after jumping by five times to finish at more than 2 billion dollars in 2023, local media reported Friday (Jan 5), citing the country's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Dang Phuc Nguyen, general secretary of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetables Association, said that durian export might reach $3.5 billion this year as higher durian output is projected coupled with more planting area and packaging facilities being granted codes for exports to China, according to a report by the Vietnam News.
