BANGKOK: Severe flooding has swept through the provinces of Yala and Narathiwat, causing damage to 9,697 homes, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) reported on Monday (Dec 25).
The flooding, the result of heavy rain over several days, is the worst the region has seen in 40 years.
