Brunei reveals initial investigation results of recent power outage; mainly due to disruption of transmission system

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Xinhua): Initial investigations revealed that last Tuesday's major power outage was due to a disruption of the 66kV transmission system, which in turn affected the operation of the upstream power stations in Brunei-Muara, Tutong and Belait districts, Brunei's Department of Electrical Services (DES) at the Prime Minister's Office has announced.

Brunei experienced a sudden and extensive power outage from around 11:30am local time last Tuesday until around 2:30am local time the next day.
