MANILA (Agencies): A Philippine court has acquitted Nobel laureate Maria Ressa and her media company Rappler of tax evasion charges filed during the administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte, Rappler reported on Tuesday, citing the decision.
The court victory "ended four years and 10 months of trial of the case,” Rappler said. Ressa won the Nobel Peace Prize for her work to safeguard freedom of expression.
