Palawan court issues arrest warrant against ex-governor Reyes


PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan (Philippine Daily Inquirer/Asia News Network): A regional trial court in this city has issued a Warrant of Arrest against former Palawan governor Joel Reyes (pic) for the 2011 murder case that tagged him as the mastermind in the killing of broadcaster Dr Gerardo Ortega.

The Warrant of Arrest was signed by Palawan RTC Branch 52 Presiding Judge Angelo Arizala on Thursday (July 20), after the release of the Supreme Court first division’s March 29 ruling ordering Reyes’ rearrest and subsequent resumption of the murder trial.
