Philippine president Marcos promotes Freedom of Information: ‘Fake news should have no place in modern society’

MANILA, June 19 (Philippine Daily Inquirer/ANN): Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos Jr on Monday promised to uphold Freedom of Information (FOI), acknowledging its benefits in the government’s campaign against misinformation and disinformation in the country.

At the 14th Edition of the International Conference of Information Commissioners (ICIC) in Pasay City, the President said that “fake news should have no place in modern society.”
