PHNOM PENH, May 15 (Phnom Penh Post/ANN): The Ministry of Health on Sunday reported zero Covid-19 cases, with two recoveries and no new deaths.

As of May 15, Cambodia recorded a total of 136,262 Covid-19 cases with 133,194 recoveries and 3,056 fatalities.

Meanwhile, the Cambodian Ministry of Health has asked an Austrian business delegation to support the provision of medicinal services and treatment for non-communicable diseases in Cambodia, and encouraged them to invest in medical technology to promote primary healthcare in order to achieve Global Universal Health Coverage.

Ministry secretary of state Or Vandine made the suggestion during a meeting with the delegation led by Michael Schmeiser, deputy chief of mission at the Thailand-based Austrian embassy .

Vandine told the delegation that the ministry always supports authorised private companies to invest in the Cambodian health sector, noting that Austrian-made medical products are still limited in Cambodia.

“She [Vandine] requested that Austria assist in medical services and treatment of non-communicable diseases, and encouraged them to invest in medical technology and 'digital health' to promote primary healthcare as part of a programme known as PHC Booster in order to achieve Global Universal Health Coverage,” the ministry quoted Vandine in a press statement.

Vandine said Cambodia always welcomes grant projects beneficial to public health promotion. In terms of soft loan, she urged the delegation to have a discussion with the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

She informed the delegation that the health ministry is currently forging ahead with the PHC Booster programme to achieve Global Universal Health Coverage. - Phnom Penh Post/ANN
