Active Covid-19 cases in Philippines on Saturday (Jan 8) goes above 100,000 as new cases hit record high

MANILA, Jan 8 (Philippines Daily Inquirer/ANN): The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday reported a record-high 26,458 new Covid-19 cases bringing the total number of infections in the country to 2,936,875 with active cases now aabove 100,000.

Saturday’s caseload is the highest recorded since the pandemic began in the country, beating the previous all-time high infections on September 11 last year, when the country reported 26,303 cases.
