Thais told to brace for wet days

THE Meteorological Department said the high-pressure system is over the north-east and the South China Sea while the easterly and south-easterly winds prevail across upper Thailand.

Meanwhile, the easterly wind prevails across the Gulf and the south while the low-pressure is over the east of Peninsular Malaysia.

Thundershowers are likely over the country with isolated heavy rains in some areas of the south.

People in the south should beware of the severe condition and rain that may cause flash floods, it said yesterday.

Resident in Bangkok and surrounding areas can expect thundershowers in 40% of the areas with temperature lows of 25-26°C and highs of 32-34°C in the next 24 hours.

Other parts of the country can also expect thundershowers and coastal areas can expect waves of up to a metre. — The Nation/ANN
