Thailand to set up first kratom extraction plant in Surat Thani


BANGKOK (The Nation/Asia News Network): Kratom for Health company is planning to establish Thailand’s first kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) extraction plant in Surat Thani’s Ban Na San district and has earmarked 20 million baht for the project.

Meanwhile, the Prince of Songkla University is studying kratom to see if it can be used in place of the imported drug methadone to treat withdrawal symptoms of drug addicts.
