Vietnam posts US$3.71bil in trade deficit in eight months

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 30 (Bernama): Vietnam posted a trade deficit of US$3.71 billion in the first eight months of 2021 as the country's imports rose 33.8 per cent year on year to US$216.26 billion while exports raked in US$212.55 billion, up 21.5 per cent, said the General Statistics Office (GSO).

The country enjoyed a trade surplus of US$13.69 billion during the same period last year, according to Vietnam News Agency.
