Philippines logs 5,735 new Covid-19 cases and 176 deaths

MANILA (Xinhua): The Philippines' Department of Health (DOH) reported on Thursday (July 29) 5,735 new Covid-19 infections, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the South-East Asian country to 1,572,287.

The death toll climbed to 27,577 after 176 more patients died from the viral disease, the DOH added.
