HANOI, June 27 (dpa): Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked authorities to compile a plan for reopening Phu Quoc island, a favourite tourist location located off southern Kien Giang province, to vaccinated foreign visitors, local media has confirmed.
In a document dated on Tuesday that was sent to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Health and authorities in Kien Giang province, Chinh asked the relevant bodies to quickly assess whether overseas travellers may arrive in low-risk tourist destinations with vaccine passports, starting with Phu Quoc.
