Man assaults tailor over Raya attire

A man who assaulted a tailor after he refused to alter his son’s Cara Melayu for Hari Raya, was ordered to settle a B$3,000 (RM9,281)) fine by the Magistrate’s Court.

Minnurul Azri, 35, who pleaded guilty to assaulting the Indian tailor has to serve three months’ jail in default of payment.

Court heard that the defendant went to a tailor in Rimba on April 25 and asked the 25-year-old victim to alter his son’s Cara Melayu.

The tailor said they were occupied and not able to accept new requests.

Minnurul then slapped the victim and grabbed him by the neck.
