Thailand: Virus variant seen in South Africa found in Narathiwat Covid-19 cases; province in lockdown

BANGKOK, May 23 (The Nation Thailand/ANN): Many areas in Narathiwat province were temporarily closed after Covid-19 Network Investigations reported that the strain of the virus found in South Africa was found among infected persons in the Tak Bai area.

During a meeting on Saturday, provincial government officials discussed the situation of new Covid-19 cases discovered in the Juvenile Detention Centre in Muang Narathiwat district and Sri Trang Agro-Industry in Yi Ngor district.
