PHNOM PENH (The Phnom Penh Post/ANN): More than 1,600 homes were damaged and five people injured by thunderstorms in the first week of May, but no one was killed, according to an official from the National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM).

NCDM spokesman Seak Vichet told The Post on May 8 that compared to the same period last year, the weather this year was more severe due to the speed and strength of thunderstorms, which Cambodia has not experienced for a long time.
