LOS ANGELES/BEIJING, March 1 (Xinhua): Chinese female director Chloe Zhao won the Golden Globe for best director in a motion picture for her feature film Nomadland on Sunday night (Feb 28), becoming the first Chinese woman and woman of Asian descent to win the trophy in the category in history.

The Chinese filmmaker is also the second woman to win the category in the Golden Globes' 78-year history, only after Barbra Streisand for Yentl in 1984.
