H5N1 bird flu outbreak reported in northwest Cambodia


PHNOM PENH (Xinhua): An outbreak of H5N1 avian flu has hit a poultry farm in northwestern Cambodia's Battambang province, killing more than 1,300 chickens, according to an agriculture ministry's statement on Tuesday (Jan 12).

The disease was confirmed by the National Animal Health and Production Research Institute on Monday, the statement said, adding that it broke out at a chicken farm in Prek Tachreng village of Ek Phnom district's Prek Norin commune.
