Philippines seeks US$300mil World Bank loan to buy Covid vaccines

MANILA (Philippine DailyInquirer/ANN): The Philippines is seeking a fresh loan of US$300 million from the World Bank to purchase vaccines for Covid-19, according to documents from the multilateral lender seen by the Inquirer on Saturday (Jan 2).

In response to the loan request made last November, the bank allowed the government to initially use $25 million to $30 million of its $100-million loan to the Duterte administration’s emergency Covid-19 project in April last year, according to one document.
