Philippine central bank urges Congress to pass key reforms to boost post-pandemic economy

MANILA (Philippine Daily Inquirer/ANN): Banking regulators are working closely with both chambers of Congress for the passage of key legislative measures and financial sector reforms that will promote economic recovery and sustained inclusive growth, according to the head of the central bank.

In a press briefing, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Gov Benjamin Diokno said the aim of this undertaking was “to strengthen the financial system, foster financial inclusion, enhance the delivery of financial services, address social issues related to access to financial products and services and support economic growth amid the pandemic.”
