Forward-looking vision needed to safeguard regional peace, says S. Korean politician


SEOUL, Oct. 9 (Xinhua): An honest view of Northeast Asia's dark history is needed in order to build trust between South Korea, China and Japan, a South Korean politician has said.

"Political leaders must face up to the painful history and take poignant lessons from history in order not to repeat such history," Lee Jong-kul, president of the Korea-China Cultural Association, said in a recent written interview with Xinhua.
