HANOI, Sept 22 (Vietnam News/ANN): Vietnam reported no new case of Covid-19 infection on Tuesday, with its total confirmed cases standing at 1,068 with 35 deaths from the disease so far, according to its Ministry of Health.
It was the third straight day, Vietnam stayed clear of any cases after a recent outbreak in the holiday city of Danang.
Five more patients have been given all-clear, raising the total cured cases in the country to 947 as of Monday, according to the ministry.
Meanwhile, over 24,600 people are being quarantined and monitored in the country, the ministry said.
Vietnam has also gone through 19 straight days without any new Covid-19 case in the community, according to the ministry.
Meanwhile, South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha praised Vietnam Nam’s plans to resume commercial flights with the RoK during her recent meeting with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Phạm Bình Minh.
Kang Kyung-wha, the first foreign minister to visit Vietnam since the Covid-19 pandemic began, proposed the two countries increase the frequency of those flights and hoped that Vietnam would continue to create favourable conditions for the RoK’s businesspeople to enter following Covid-19 prevention protocols with an aim of fostering the bilateral economic, trade and investment co-operation.
Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Bình Minh appreciated Kang Kyung-wha’s visit to Vietnam, saying it played an important role in strengthening the partnership between the two sides.
“Vietnam attaches importance to relations with the Seoul and is willing to consolidate the Vietnam-S. Korea strategic partnership, especially at the time the two countries are looking towards the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2022, ” Minh said.
The guest congratulated Vietnam for its Covid-19 containment and chairmanship of Asean in the context of challenges posed by the pandemic. - The Vietnam News/Asian News Network
