Brunei appoints new armed forces commander

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Xinhua): Brunei's Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah has appointed Major General (U) Pahlawan Hamzah Sahat as the 11th Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) at Istana Nurul Iman, the country's royal palace.

Local daily the Borneo Bulletin reported on Wednesday (Sept 2) that Haji Hamzah was at the same time promoted from Brigadier General to Major General on Tuesday.
