Brunei: Nation celebrates as no new Covid-19 cases reported for 92 straight days

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Aug 7 (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): Brunei reported no new case of Covid-19 (coronavirus) on Friday with the national tally standing at 141.

It marked the 92nd consecutive day without new cases since May 7.

According to Brunei's Ministry of Health, no active cases are being treated at the National Isolation Centre.

Meanwhile, there are 581 individuals who are undergoing mandatory isolation at the monitoring centres provided by the government, who have arrived in the country after travelling abroad.

There have been three deaths resulted from Covid-19 in Brunei and a total of 138 patients have recovered.

According to the Ministry of Health (MoH), 463 samples have been taken in the past 24 hours to test for SARS-CoV-2 virus, bringing it to a total of 42,770 tests since January 2020.

In its daily release, the ministry also said 581 individuals are currently undergoing mandatory self-isolation at government monitoring centres after arriving in the country from abroad.

Meanwhile, 3,915 individuals have completed self-isolation at the monitoring centres since March 2020.

In its breakdown of cases in the country, healthinfo.gov.bn said there were 110 cases in the Brunei-Muara District, 25 in the Belait District and six in the Tutong District.
