Philippines to stop Manila's MRT-3 train line amid rising Covid-19 infections

MANILA (Xinhua): Philippine authorities on Monday (July 6) said that one of the metro train lines in the capital city Manila will stop operating for five days starting Tuesday after 186 train personnel tested positive for Covid-19.

The Department of Transportation of the Philippines on Monday reported that a total of 186 Manila Metro Rail Transit System Line 3 (MRT-3) employees tested positive for the virus, including 11 ticket sellers, two train drivers, two control centre personnel, and one nurse from one of its stations. The rest are depot personnel, it added.
