BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): Health Minister Dr Mohd Isham Jaafar announced Brunei’s second death from Covid-19 today.
The deceased, a 56-year-old local man passed away 7.30am at the National Isolation Centre (NIC) in Tutong.
The minister said the deceased tested positive for the virus on March 24, after developing symptoms on March 22. He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on March 25.
Meanwhile, no new Covid-19 case was recorded in Brunei on Wednesday (May 27), maintaining the national tally at 141. No recovery was recorded today, maintaining the total number of recovered patients to 137.
One case is still in critical condition and requires heart/lung machine (ECMO) as well as respiratory assistance. Meanwhile, the remaining active case is in stable condition.
In the past 24 hours, a total of 28 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV2 virus, that brings the total number of laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 18,648 tests. - Borneo Bulletin/Asia News Network
