COLOMBO: Sri Lankan police seized about 463 kilograms of suspected crystal methamphetamine, or "ice," from two containers at Colombo Port on Monday.
The drugs, concealed inside towels, were estimated to have a street value of more than 8 billion Sri Lankan rupees (24.4 million U.S. dollars), according to Deputy Inspector General of Police Ashoka Dharmasena.
Following the seizure, the police have arrested a businessman from Colombo as well as two Pakistani nationals in connection with the case.
Investigators are working to identify those responsible for importing the consignment and others linked to the alleged trafficking network. - Xinhua
