Biker injured, pillion rider dead after 4WD chase in Kapar


SHAH ALAM: A pillion rider was killed while the motorcycle rider was injured after a a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle rammed into them in Taman Seri Kapar on Wednesday (March 5), involving two local men.

The incident occurred at 9.51am. The pillion rider was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel, while the motorcycle rider sustained injuries.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Shazeli Kahar said investigations found that the two victims on the motorcycle allegeldy fired shots at a worker in Kampung Perepat, Klang.

“The suspect, who was driving the four-wheel-drive vehicle, then chased the motorcycle along Jalan Keretapi Lama.

“When one of the victims pointed an object resembling a pistol at the suspect, the suspect rammed the motorcycle, causing both of them to fall and be dragged near the entrance junction to Taman Seri Kapar,” he said in a statement on Thursday.

Comm Shazeli said checks showed that the deceased had a criminal record with 23 prior offences involving serious crimes, including murder, attempted murder and gang robbery.

The injured victim had 10 criminal offences and was also listed as a wanted person under Section 130V of the Penal Code.

He added that the 49-year-old suspect has been arrested and was also found to have a record involving drug-related offences and cases under Sections 302 and 307 of the Penal Code.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

“The public is advised not to speculate on the incident as it could affect police investigations. Those with information are urged to come forward to assist,” he said.
