A YOUNG man confronted death four times after his heart stopped while receiving treatment for a spinal cord injury, reported Harian Metro.

Ibrahim Othman, 33, has been bedridden since a 2020 road accident in which a car rear-ended the motorcycle he and a friend were riding.

The accident left him paralysed and wheelchair-bound.

Ibrahim, a former national taekwondo athlete who competed in an open championship in South Korea, recounted his ordeal.

“After the incident, I was semi- conscious and spent more than three months in the intensive care unit (ICU). Then I was allowed to go home, but just three days later, I was readmitted to the hospital for a month.

“I was in the ICU for two weeks and my heart had stopped beating four times,” the once athletic young man said.

Despite these setbacks, Ibrahim hasn’t given up.

He has pursued various treatments, both modern and traditional, including acupuncture, cupping therapy, Islamic medical treatment, and physiotherapy.

He expressed gratitude for the support he receives from his parents, Haseena Mohamed Sultan, 53, and Othman Ibrahim, 62, who care for him and give him strength.

“I am also grateful for the encouragement I’ve received from my followers and the TikTok community since I started live streaming about two months ago,” he added.
