Vietnam's CPI up 3.1 per cent in eight months

HANOI (Xinhua): Vietnam's consumer price index (CPI) in the first eight months of this year went up by 3.1 per cent year-on-year, as the country's core inflation rose by 4.57 per cent, the country's General Statistics Office said on Tuesday (Aug 29).

In the eight-month period, items posting the most significant price hikes include education with a 7.28-per cent rise, housing and construction materials with a 6.65-per cent increase, and food and catering services with a 3.72-per cent increase, according to the office.
