Twitter expands 'Audience Platform' for off-Twitter advertising


Piece of cake: Twitter claims that advertisers can reach over 700 million users both on and off Twitter with their "Audience Platform" expansion.

On August 20, Twitter announced that it has rolled out two additional options for advertisers. 

Twitter's sponsored tweets and auto-play videos are now available for advertisers across a large network of third-party apps, as part of their newly re-named "Audience Platform" expansion (previously the "Twitter Publisher Network"), giving advertisers a much larger target audience. 

In their press release, Twitter claims that advertisers can reach over 700 million users both on and off Twitter. 

Video advertisements are an effective and lucrative business. Twitter is not the first to introduce such an ad-buying feature: Facebook announced a very similar programme just last week. — AFP Relaxnews
