Kuala Lumpur Marathon reverts back to Oct 4

PETALING JAYA: The Standard Chartered KL Marathon has been reverted back to Oct 4.

It was only announced on Monday that the US$125,000 (RM476,000) event was pushed to October 10 to coincide with the inaugural National Sports Day.

But on Thursday, Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin wrote on his facebook account that the event will move back to its original date of Oct 4.

“I have held many discussions with the organisers and other stakeholders… and have jointly come to the conclusion that the Standard Chartered KL Marathon will be reverted back to October 4,” said Khairy.

“On behalf of the ministry, Standard Chartered, Dirigo (event organisers) and DBKL, I apologise for the inconvenience caused by the earlier change in date.”
