I REFER to the report “Lafarge’s encroachment into eco-sensitive areas causes alarm” (The Star, March 5) and would like to make some clarifications.

The Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) botany team started the botanical survey on Gunung Kanthan in mid-2013. Our interest from the beginning was to document the richness of the plant diversity of this limestone hill.
