PETALING JAYA: PAS secretary-general, Datuk Mustafa Ali (pic) confirmed that the party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang has sent three names of candidates for the Mentri Besar's post to the Sultan of Selangor.

Mustafa was quoted by the party’s official organ Harakah Daily as confirming Hadi’s letter but declined to reveal who the three nominated.

For the time being, leave it be,” he said.

Mustafa said that three names were sent because the palace had instructed all parties to submit more than two names.

"So it is more than two names, at least three," said Mustafa, adding that the letter was submitted on Wednesday.

He said that the letter with the names of candidates nominated for the MB's post after the 2008 and 2013 general elections had also been signed by the PAS president.

Earlier in the day, several senior PAS leaders denied knowledge of Hadi’s letter nominating three PAS exco members.
