Featherst one: Died on Tuesday

KUALA LUMPUR: Former British High Commissioner to Malaysia Simon Featherstone has died after a year-long illness.

He served as high commissioner here from October 2010 to May this year.

Featherstone, 56, who died in Eng­land on Tuesday, had also served in China, Belgium and Switzerland.

In Malaysia, he was responsible for elevating the bilateral relationship to its highest level across all sectors in recent times.

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman said he was deeply saddened to hear of Featherstone’s passing.

“He was a fine diplomat who did his work with great passion and skill,” he added.
