KLANG: The Klang Muslim Solidarity Secretariat, a coalition of Muslim NGOs, gathered at the Sultan Sulaiman Stadium here to protest against the use of the word “Allah” by Christians.
The peaceful demonstration yesterday was a reaction to a statement allegedly made by Father Lawrence Andrew, editor of Catholic weekly The Herald, that Christians in the state would go on using “Allah” during Mass.
Kapar Umno division deputy chief Datuk Saroni Judi said the coalition gathered to demand an apology from Father Lawrence.
Muslim NGO Jati secretary-general Norman Toha said the group was there in peace.
