SC: Make private retirement scheme more accessible

Securities Commission Malaysia chairman Datuk Ranjit Ajit Singh speaking at the Private Retirement Scheme Conference on June 25.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Securities Commission (SC) is encouraging private retirement scheme (PRS) providers to widen their distribution channels to attract new subscribers, especially among the younger generation.

“To widen the accessibility of the PRS to all members of the population, from the self-employed as well as the younger demographics, it is now more important than ever for providers and distributors to expand their coverage across the nation,” said SC chairman Datuk Ranjit Ajit Singh in his opening speech at the PRS conference.
