Student in Ipoh falls to his death from shopping complex roof

IPOH: A Form Five student died after falling from the roof of a shopping centre here.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Sum Chang Keong said the 16-year-old boy was found sprawled on the ground outside the shopping mall.

He is believed to have fallen from the roof.

The incident is believed to have occurred Wednesday at about 12.30pm.

"He was still wearing his uniform and was carrying his bag.

"We believe there was no foul play as his wallet was intact," he said in a press statement.

ACP Sum said police would obtain the CCTV recording from the shopping mall for further investigation.

"There were also no witnesses at the time of the incident," he said, adding that the case has been classified as sudden death.
