Driver killed near notorious tunnel

IPOH: Just four days after a bus rammed into 10 vehicles on the North-South Expressway near the Menora Tunnel, a northbound four-wheel-drive vehicle plunged into a 50m-deep ravine, killing its driver and injuring a passenger.

Deputy Perak police traffic chief DSP Mohd Mahiri Hussin said Muhd Safiq Dainal Alias, 18, who was driving the Mitsubishi Triton, was killed while the passenger, Mohamad Nor Hafiz Mohd Ridzuan, 20, was seriously injured in the accident at KM260 of the expressway.
