Viral video shows policewoman scolding complainant

PETALING JAYA: A traffic policewoman is being investigated after a video of her allegedly scolding a complainant went viral on social media.

Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohammad Azlin Sadari confirmed that the incident took place last Sunday at about 6pm at the traffic police counter at the district police headquarters.

He said police regarded the matter seriously and had opened disciplinary investigation papers on the incident.

In the meantime, the policewoman has been transferred out from her front-desk duties.

In a statement on Wednesday, ACP Mohammad Azlin advised police personnel to show good character and be patient when dealing with the public.

The video, which was more than minute long, shows a policewoman allegedly scolding a complainant trying to lodge a report at the counter.

In the video, the policewoman berates the complainant and the cameraman for apparently calling her “stupid”, though they deny this, as well as ignoring her instructions that only the driver needed to come to the station to make the report.
