Hand grenade found in petrol station toilet

BUKIT MERTAJAM: An explosive believed to be a hand grenade was discovered at a petrol station here.

The Central Seberang Prai district D9 police division received a call from the public informing them that a bomb had been found yesterday afternoon at the petrol station in Jalan Kulim.

The bomb detonation and forensic squad along with officers from the fire and rescue department rushed to the scene.

Upon arrival, they discovered an object wrapped in black plastic on top of the water tank in the men’s toilet.

Workers and staffs were immediately evacuated and the area cordoned off.

The explosive was detonated at the scene.

Police are now investigating the matter.
