JOHOR BARU: The on-going development in Iskandar Malaysia is continuing to attract Malaysian and foreign developers to the economic growth corridor.

Among the foreign developers are those from China who have made their presence felt in Iskandar Malaysia over the past few years with projects undertaken by their local outfits.

The first to make its mark is Country Garden Group which is undertaking a multi-billion-ringgit project along the Danga Bay waterfront area.

Work on the 43 condominium blocks with 9,539 units is on track and the project is targeted for completion by the end of 2017.

“We have sold 6,000 of the 9,539 condominium units. About 60% of the buyers are Malaysian and Singaporean,” said Country Garden Danga Bay Sdn Bhd sales and marketing general manager Easson Qian.

R&F Development Sdn Bhd sales and marketing head Johnny Chan said the location of its R&F Princess Cove in Tanjung Puteri was a strong selling point.

He said the take-up rate was encouraging for Phase One comprising seven blocks of 35-storey condominium tower each with 1,386 units.

Greenland Group recently launched its first project in Iskandar Malaysia – Jade Palace Danga Bay – with 13 blocks of condominium towers.

About 60% of the units from the five blocks have been sold.

Macrolink Group is the latest developer from China in Iskandar Malaysia with its first overseas property project outside China.

The launching date of the 1,005 condominium units and 25 commercial lots on 4.73ha is slated later this year.

Country Garden, R&F Development, Greenland and Macrolink are some of the 22 developers joining the StarProperty.my Fair 2015, which started yesterday at the Johor Baru City Square.

The three-day fair is organised by StarProperty.my with premium partners IJM Land, Tropicana Corp Bhd and Matrix Concepts Holdings Bhd.

Other participants are Mah Sing Group Bhd, Sunsuria Medini Sdn Bhd, IOI Properties Group Bhd, I&P Group Sdn Bhd, Horizon Hills, and Belleview Group.
