PETALING JAYA: Police have dispelled rumours circulating on social media suggesting that a fight will take place between Gang 24 and Gang 36 following the murder of a notorious Klang gangster on Wednesday.
South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Kamarul Zaman Mamat on Saturday denied messages circulating on social media saying that a fight will break out between the two gangs in Kampung Jawa, Klang, to avenge the murder of slain Gang 24 member Asli Guna, 35.
"It is safe and peaceful in Kampung Jawa now. No untoward incident has happened.
"Its residents are free to go on with their daily lives," he added.
ACP Kamarul Zaman assured that police have taken early preventative measures following the slaying of Asli Guna.
"The South Klang police headquarters has mobilised all its components to maintain peace and stability in the district.
"Stern action will be taken against those responsible for disseminating fake information that might cause public unrest," he said.
