PETALING JAYA: The West Javan police are trying to determine if the rape of a Malaysian girl studying at the Padjajaran University in Bandung was planned or spontaneous.
According to a report on Indonesian news portal detik.com Head Of Public Relations West Java Police Comr Martinus Sitompul said the police were trying to find out if the victim and was known to the perpetrators.
“We have asked those who know the victim whether the perpetrators were known to the victim. Whether they were from the campus or outside,” he was reported to have told journalists in Bandung.
Martinus also said that they have taken the statements from 11 people, friends of the victim.
It was reported that the student left her rented house in Bandung not far from her Jatinangor campus to withdraw money when an unknown man covered her mouth and pulled her into a car.
She was then raped by three different men before being dumped in a car park about 40km from where she was abducted.
