> Angry motorist slaps municipal council officer
A female motorist in George Town, furious that her car was clamped by the Penang Island Municipal Council (MPPP), slapped a female enforcement officer on Tuesday. In the 9.45pm incident, the woman, in her 40s, is reported to have slapped the officer while the latter was clamping the former’s Perodua Kenari which was illegally parked.
> Ziana Zain to don headscarf full-time
Popular Malay singer-actress Ziana Zain, 46, has decided to don the hijab (headscarf) full-time. Ziana is reported to have made the decision on Tuesday. She was quoted as thanking God for opening her heart and saying she considers the hijab a meaningful gift from God.
> Zhang Jian might not be Chinese citizen
Self-proclaimed millionaire Zhang Jian might not be a Chinese citizen, said Chinese Embassy’s consular officer Lin Dong. He said the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia did not have any record of Zhang Jian adding that even though the businessman spoke Mandarin, it did not mean he was from China. Lin Dong said that the identity of Zhang Jian might be clearer after an investigation carried out by Chinese authorities.
> Hong Kong star Leo Ku ties the knot with assistant
Hong Kong actor-singer Leo Ku married his assistant Lorraine Chan in Las Vegas recently. The 41-year-old artiste posted the couple’s wedding photo on his Sina Weibo on Sunday with a message expressing how Chan had been taking care of him since his first album in 1994 and how he intended to return the favour now.
