Every day from dawn till dusk, wau maker Shapie Jusof works on his craft in a small hut near the Cahaya Bulan Beach in Kota Baru, Kelantan.
The 64-year-old Kelantanese was naturally, working - sitting on the floor, carving out a traditional kite frame in his bare hut which is filled with a dazzling array of wau - as we approached him for an interview.
