Meta bans TikTok from advertising on its apps, Bloomberg News reports

Oct 8 (Reuters) - ⁠Meta banned advertisements ⁠in the US ‌from ByteDance, the Chinese parent company of TikTok, Bloomberg ​News reported ⁠on Thursday.

Meta began ⁠implementing a complete restriction ⁠on ‌ads and paid marketing ⁠messages placed on its platforms ​by ‌ByteDance, with the ⁠ban taking ​effect in the US, Canada, Egypt, ⁠Indonesia, Japan, Thailand ​and Vietnam, the report said citing the company.

Reuters ⁠could not independently verify the report. Meta did not immediately ​respond ⁠to a Reuters request ​for comment.
